    I put a couple of pictures together to illustrate the parts of an Indian Head penny. I use the words cent and penny interchangeably because ‘penny’ is used about 10 times more frequently than ‘cent’ in search engines. So you will see ‘penny’ sprinkled throughout the site.

    That’s a professional-looking diagram! There’s a few other details I “label” on coins, mostly used for grading purposes–such as the bottom border of the headband, and the hair/ribbon junction.
