The depth map for that pic isn’t much to look at…it’s really noisy. Not at all like the ones I’ve generated tethered on high-relief coins like ancient Greek–which really look great in 3D! It looks like they did without the microscope and mounted a Nikon scope lens to a manual focus Canon. I guess if that were a AF lens, it could be focus-stacked while tethered? That might work, but I think 3-5X would be the most I would need. I can only guess the optical quality is going to suffer, and you’re throwing out a lot of those D810 megapixels lol.
