Here’s a new picture that I made using focus-stacking. Focus stacking won’t improve image quality for modern coins of low relief. In this case, I wanted to see if I could generate a depth map that could be applied to the date area for study of the RPD. I used the smallest focus increments possible on this lens, but didn’t manage to render any useful relief for the date. But there are a few more tricks I can try. 🙂
In some ways, this is a better picture because the lighting isn’t so harsh.
