Variety Summary

First discovered by David Killough during early November 2015. Prior to Killough’s discovery, David Poliquin had been aware of 9 examples of these cents certified in PCGS holders, with eight grading MS64RB and one grading MS65RB. The sequence numbers on the PCGS holders indicate submission of these, and possibly more, were done at the same time and were all from an original roll that arrived on the market in recent years. All PCGS examples, as well as the Killough discovery example, were in a similar die state. – David Poliquin

Additional Notes

Obverse

It appears that die gouges protrude from the denticles south of the first S in STATES and the D in UNITED.

Reverse

None yet noted.
