Variety Summary

This is the only doubled die known on an Indian cent between 1893 and 1899, what made the difference during this time period. Misplaced Dates are frequent during this time period. Was it because the person in charge of the hubbing press was experienced and careful? This double die is paired with a repunched date, RPD-019.

Additional Notes

Obverse

Paired with RPD-019.

Reverse

Class II, Distorted Hub Doubling
Doubling shows as a spread toward the center on the veins and leaves on the left side of the wreath. It is also seen on the bottom left leaves.
