Variety Summary

This variety is a heart stopper and a true treasure when found. BU specimens are rare, even with many collectors searching for it, few have turned up in high grade.

Additional Notes

Obverse

Classes IV & Class VIII, Offset Hub & Tilt Hub Doubling.
Doubling shows as a strong southward spread on OF and LIBERTY. Nice doubling also seen on TATES of STATES, AMER of AMERICA, the headband, and some of the feathers.

Degree of doubling and the depth of strike diminishes as you approach design elements at the bottom of the coin which is typical for a die which was tilted in the hubbing press.

Reverse

None yet noted.
