Variety Summary

With all of the CUDs on the copper nickel cents in 1863, you’d think that there would have been more cuds in 1864. Perhaps they changed the pressure of the coining press, or changed a step in the die making process.

Additional Notes

Obverse

None yet noted.

Reverse

Complex retained CUD. Crack from about 5:30 to 7:30, which also meets the rim at about 7:00. Exhibits vertical and horizontal displacement.
