Variety Summary

The section between 4:00 and 6:45 of the reverse has become compromised, causing areas at 4:00 and 6:45 to separate from the working die and reside at lower depths of the working die with respect to the die face. This die degradation may not yet be regarded as a cud since the central area between 4:00 and 6:45 is still attached to the working die body. For the lack of a better term, I have taken the liberty of using ‘partial cuds’ to assess the die state.

It should be noted that the reverse section between 4:00 and 6:45 may deteriorate further and become one cud between 4:00 and 6:45 or develop two cuds: one defined by the die crack from 5:00 to 6:45 and a second one defined by the die crack at 4:00 and 5:00. This variety was first identified by Poliquin during late November 2015. – David Poliquin
